* FINAL: No. 4 Michigan defeats IU 31-20.

The Hoosiers failed to maintain their 17-15 halftime lead, scoring just three points in the second half.

Cam Jones' targeting penalty will loom large entering next week's Old Oaken Bucket Game. Both Purdue and IU have 5-6 records entering next Saturday's game in Bloomington, meaning for the second straight year the winner will reach the postseason while the loser will not qualify for a bowl game.

Peyton Ramsey and Stevie Scott both had success running the ball against a stout Michigan defense today, compiling 51 and 139 yards on the ground, respectively.

IU's leading receivers was Nick Westbrook, who had 84 receiving yards of the 195 passing yards Ramsey finished the game with.

On defense, Marcelino Ball led IU with 10 tackles, and Ball had an interception. The Hoosier defense did well to "bend and not break," limiting the Wolverines to six shot field goal attempts, which were all successful. But, the IU defense forced just one punt in the game.

IU still has not beaten Michigan since 1987, and IU hasn't won a game in Ann Arbor, Michigan, since 1967.

IU, 5-6, has Purdue next weekend while Michigan, 10-1, can win the Big Ten East division with a victory against Ohio State next week.
