On Monday afternoon, IU men’s soccer seniors Timmy Mehl and Trevor Swartz were given National Team of the Week honors.
College Soccer News named the pair of Hoosiers to the team after IU defeated Air Force, 2-0, to advance the Hoosiers to the fourth round of the NCAA Tournament.
It was the 27th time in program history that IU advanced to the Elite Eight.
Swartz has assisted on five goals in the NCAA Tournament already and picked up his 14th and 15th assists overall for the season on the pair of goals against Air Force.
Mehl scored the second goal of the day with a header in the 22nd minute. It was his third goal of the season.
The day and time of IU’s quarterfinal match with No. 7-seeded Notre Dame has yet to be announced.
