Bloomington man arrested on rape charge

A 22-year-old Bloomington man was arrested Thursday for allegedly raping a 21-year-old woman early Wednesday.

Police said Bryce Shook admitted to the rape.

Bloomington Police Department Capt. Steve Kellams said the woman’s friend was friends with Shook, and the three were together on Christmas.

She reported Shook raped her around 3 a.m. Wednesday after she told him no when he made sexual advances. Police said she reported passing out and waking up at 7:30 a.m. to him raping her again before leaving the home.

Kellams said Shook told officers he heard the woman say no and knew she was intoxicated.

According to court documents, Shook has a separate pending rape charge from January 2018  along with other minor offenses.
