Mayor John Hamilton will run for re-election according to an announcement in a press release from Hamilton's campaign Sunday.
Hamilton’s re-election launch party will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Monroe County Democratic Party Headquarters. According to the press release, a short program will start at 6 p.m.
Hamilton defeated Republican John Turnbull in the 2015 election, winning 77 percent of the vote. In the democratic primary, Hamilton won 3,970 votes to Darryl Neher’s 2,760 and John Linnemeier’s 91, according to Monroe County Democratic Party Chair Mark Fraley.
