A Bloomington family called police Saturday after returning from being out of town to find a 26-year-old man in an upstairs bedroom of the home.
BPD Sgt. David Alley said the family held the suspect in the home until police arrived.
Jacob Boomsma was charged Saturday with the alleged burglary of a home on the 2000 block of E. Edwards Rd.
Police responded to the burglary in progress around 2:30 p.m.
Alley said there was no indication Boomsma had been living there while the family was gone and nothing was reported missing from the home.
Boomsma was also charged with criminal mischief and possession of paraphernalia for having a glass smoking device on him.
