After a 0-2 performance last week, the IU men's tennis team is searching for success against Drake University and Utah State University this weekend in Des Moines, Iowa.
The two losses marked the only time IU lost two matches in the same weekend since last season.
The Hoosiers are now 4-4 on the season.
“As a team, we know we were right there against these top teams,” freshman Patrick Fletchall said. “It’ll be great to go back out there as a team and try to get the job done.”
Drake comes into the contest at 4-3 but is nursing a three-game losing streak.
The Bulldogs beat the Hoosiers 4-3 in Bloomington last season.
"I think we want some sweet revenge on them,” Fletchall said.
As for Utah State, it comes into the weekend at 6-3 with a win over the University of Washington last month.
Both Drake and Utah State made the NCAA tournament last season but lost in the first round.
In contrast, IU has not made the tournament since 2013.
The match against Drake begins at 6 p.m. Friday, while the Utah State matchup commences at 1 p.m. Sunday.
