A 20-year-old IU sophomore admitted to police Monday he secretly filmed his two roommates naked. Both of his roommates are women.
Tyler Best was arrested at his 220 E. Varsity Lane apartment Monday, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Dana Cole said. His roommates reported him the same day after he received a package in the mail that appeared to contain a pen camera.
When the two roommates brought this information to police, police confronted Best. He admitted to recording his roommates in their rooms naked, Cole said, and had deleted multiple other videos that didn’t contain nudity.
Best was charged with two counts of voyeurism for filming his roommates.
One of his roommates originally came to police in October after she found a camera in her bedroom. She told police she didn’t suspect either of her roommates were spying on her.
At the time, police were unable to get in touch with Best to interview him, Cole said.
