Man arrested for alleged sexual assault in a port-a-potty

A 50-year-old man was arrested Tuesday evening after being accused of locking a 50-year-old woman in a port-a-potty and sexually assaulting her.

Bloomington Police Department Lt. Ryan Pedigo said the woman was going into a port-a-potty at the Wheeler Mission Center for Men on South Westplex Avenue when James Casteel pushed his way in and locked the door.

The woman told police Casteel sexually assaulted her in the port-a-potty.

She told him no multiple times and then screamed for help.

People in the parking lot heard and started banging on the door, police said. Casteel finally opened the port-a-potty and the two were kept separate until police arrived.

Casteel refused to talk to police or answer questions.

He was jailed on preliminary charges of sexual battery and criminal confinement.
