The Big Ten Conference announced the men's basketball league opponents for each of the 14 conference schools for next season.
All 14 Big Ten teams will play a 20-game regular season conference schedule. Each team will play seven opponents twice, both home and away. Each team will also play three opponents only at home and three other opponents only on the road.
The dates, times and television channels for these games will be announced during the summer.
IU will play both home and away games against Purdue, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin.
IU will play only home games against Iowa, Michigan State and Northwestern.
IU will play only road games against Illinois, Michigan and Rutgers.
The Hoosiers’ schedule assignment appears to be favorable, if only because of the limited games against Michigan-based schools. Michigan and Michigan State both finished in the top three of the regular season conference standings last season, and Iowa also finished in the top half of the conference standings.
IU will play each of those three teams only once next season, while the other three one-time opponents — Northwestern, Illinois and Rutgers — were three of the four worst teams in last season’s Big Ten.
During the last two seasons under Miller, the Hoosiers are 17-21 in regular season conference games.
