A domestic dispute Wednesday ended with one man taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital after being stabbed in his chest with scissors, Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo said.
BPD received a call Wednesday morning reporting two people stabbing each other in a North Illinois Street apartment.
Angela Woods, 44, told police she and a man had been arguing because she was in the process of being evicted. The man became upset and attempted to stab her with scissors.
She said she took the scissors and stabbed him in the chest.
The man had blood on his left chest area and was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital to possibly receive stitches.
He initially told police he fell down the stairs while holding scissors but later confirmed Woods stabbed him. Woods had no injuries.
Police said both smelled strongly of alcohol.
BPD located two pairs of scissors in the apartment. One was on the floor, and the other was on the counter.
Woods was arrested for domestic battery.
