Crews will be performing fire hydrant maintenance through the first week of July, according to a City of Bloomington Utilities press release.
Maintenance will be performed in a rectangle area between East Winslow Road/East Rogers Road, East Moores Pike/East Hillside Drive, South Walnut Street and South Sare Road.
Bloomington Utilities crews will conduct flow tests and other maintenance on the hydrants. Residents in these areas may notice water discoloration and changes in water pressure during the maintenance.
If their water is discolored, residents are advised to run cold water until the color disappears, according to the press release. Bloomington Utilities also recommends limiting the use of hot water until the cold water runs clear.
The maintenance is scheduled through the first week of July but may continue if work is not completed on time or if crews are delayed by bad weather, according to the release.
