Fourth of July Parade
This year's parade will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Seventh Street and Indiana Avenue. The route will begin at the intersection of Seventh Street and Indiana Avenue and go through downtown. For a map of the route and list of parade entries click here.
Monroe County Fair
The fair will continue through July 7 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. On July 4, Reece Phillips will perform on the Grandstand followed by the Three Bar J Rodeo at 8 p.m. Starting at 5 p.m. the Herb and Jack Showwill perform on the Free Stage followed by a performance by Lonesome Strangers at 7 p.m. Entrance to the fair is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Harp Competition
Stage 1 of the USA International Harp Competition will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday in Recital Hall located inside Merrill Hall at 1201 E. Third Street. This event is free and open to the public.
Fish Fry
Bloomington Elks #446 will have a fish fry starting at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Elks Lodge located at 400 N. Walnut St. Food and beverages will be available for purchase with proceeds going to Parade of Nickels, which assists local veteran services.
