The Jazz in July concert series returns

The Jazz in July concert series is back for another round this summer, offering four free concerts throughout the month. The concerts will take place at 7 p.m. every Friday in the Conrad Prebys Amphitheater on IU’s campus.

The first concert on July 5 will feature a performance by Jamaal Baptiste and Descarga 5. Subsequent concerts will feature the Amanda Gardier quartet on July 12, Elena Escudero on July 19 and the Tucker Brothers on July 26.

“This free outdoor concert series is bringing you more of the best jazz from around Indiana,” according to the program’s website. “We encourage guests to bring lawn chairs, blankets or even a picnic!”

If concerts are rained out, they will be moved to alternative locations. The July 5 and 12 concerts will relocate to Cramer Marching Hundred Hall, and the July 19 and 26 concerts will be moved to Recital Hall.

Jazz in July is co-hosted by WFIU and IU’s Jacobs School of Music.
