The first domino for the IU men’s basketball 2020 recruiting class has officially fallen.
On Friday afternoon, Culver Academies three-star guard Trey Galloway announced on his Instagram account that it’s a “done deal,” and that he's committed to IU. Galloway is the sixth in-state recruit for IU Coach Archie Miller out of his last eight commitments.
Galloway made back-to-back appearances in the IHSAA 3A state championship game. He was receiving interest from Michigan State, Ohio State, Butler University and University of Notre Dame among others.
Last season, he averaged 16.2 points per game with 6.4 rebounds per game. He also played on the AAU circuit with another IU target in 4-star shooting guard Anthony Leal. 247Sports has Galloway listed as the No. 178 ranked recruit in the country and No. 5 overall in the state.
Galloway recently was a part of the Indiana Junior’s All-Star team where he turned some heads in front of crowds full of IU fans. He’ll be in heavy contention this upcoming season for Indiana’s Mr. Basketball award.
