A 51-year-old man arrested for allegedly assaulting a 41-year-old woman Friday night outside the former Boxcar Books location.
Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Brandon Siniard said officers received a report of an assault in progress at 11:45 p.m. at 408 E. Sixth St. When police arrived at the scene, they made contact with Shane Frederickson, the victim and a friend of the victim who witnessed the incident.
Siniard said the victim and the witness told police Frederickson had approached the victim asking for his cell phone, which she did not have. Frederickson then shoved the victim to the ground, which the victim said caused her pain. The victim did not require medical attention.
Officers arrested Frederickson on one charge of battery for shoving the victim.
