Stephanie Gibson, 33, was arrested Monday on charges of automobile theft after she allegedly stole a BTown Menus delivery driver's 2003 Buick Lesabre.
Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Jason Shaevitz said the BTown Menus delivery driver arrived at IU Health Bloomington Hospital around 10:20 p.m.
The driver told police Gibson was standing outside the hospital entrance and asked him if he was busy. He told her he was delivering food and went inside. He said his car was gone when he returned.
Shaevitz said the driver reported the missing car to hospital security. They confirmed Gibson had been discharged that night and was from Martinsville, Indiana, in Morgan County.
Morgan County Sheriff's Office was notified. Gibson was stopped by its officers, who said she was alone in the car.
Gibson is in Monroe County Correctional Center, according to court documents.
