UPDATED: Man found dead in car near Bryan Park identified

 

The body of a deceased man was found around 5:20 p.m. Thursday in a car parked near Bryan Park.

Bloomington Police Department Lt. John Kovach said the person who called BPD with concern was a friend of the deceased. The friend recognized the man’s four-door white Sedan and called the police.

The friend told police the deceased man had been living out of his car for a long period of time.

Kovach said the man was approximately 60 years old, and there was no sign of apparent trauma. 

BPD contacted Coroner Joani Shields, who had the man’s body taken for an autopsy and toxicology report. The results of those reports have not been released as of Friday afternoon.

Update 6:03 p.m. Nov. 11

Coroner Joani Shields said the man has been identified to be Scott Lackey. He was 62 years old. 

Shields said there is no suspicions of foul play, and no injuries were found on Lackey.

The toxicology results will take approximately 3-4 weeks to reveal the cause of death.
