The IU Crimson all-girl cheerleading team will not move on to the final round of the 2020 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship, according to varsity.com.

The six-time champions will not be one of the nine teams to advance after competing in the semi-final round of the All Girl Division IA Saturday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida.

The defending champions have placed in the top five since 2016, including three of their six national titles.

Four falls and several unstable formations during the performance led to the team's downfall, according to the video of the team's routine. The first fall occurred early in the routine, and the team continued to struggle throughout its time on the mat.

The Indiana Cheerleading Twitter account expressed disappointment about the competition but wrote that the team “will grow from this and come back stronger.”
