Freshman midfielder Aidan Morris became the latest IU men’s soccer player to leave the program after signing a Homegrown Player contract with Columbus Crew SC.
The Crew announced Tuesday that Morris would join the team and forgo his remaining three years with the Hoosiers.
“I would like to thank the coaching staff for helping me grow as a player and more importantly a person,” Morris said in a press release. “I would also like to thank my teammates who opened my eyes to a brotherhood that I never knew was possible.”
Morris led IU with eight assists and scored two goals last season . He was named to the All-Big Ten First Team as well as Top Drawer Soccer’s Freshman of the Year among many other honors in his lone season as a Hoosier.
