Man arrested after threatening man with knife on Bloomington bus

A man was arrested after reportedly pulling a knife on another man Wednesday morning on a bus at the Bloomington Transit Center, according to an email from Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo.

Otis Pye, 59, was arrested on a preliminary charge of intimidation with a deadly weapon. Pye was experiencing homelessness at the time of his arrest, according to the email.

The 49-year-old man Pye allegedly threatened was sitting on a bus waiting for it to depart. He said Pye got on the bus, appeared to be intoxicated and asked people for money, according to the email.

The man told police when Pye asked him for money, he said no, Pedigo said in the email. Pye began to yell at the man and pulled out a knife.

The man told police he ran off the bus and got the attention of a nearby officer. According to the email, witness accounts and surveillance camera footage from inside the bus confirmed the man’s statement.
