The Big Ten conference announced Wednesday that 121 Hoosier athletes were included in the spring Academic All-Big Ten team.
Athletes from baseball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track and field, softball, women’s rowing and water polo all made the list.
Women’s rowing accounted for the most recipients with 26.
“To have a record 121 students earn Academic All-Big Ten honors this spring is a tremendous achievement by our students,” IU athletic director Fred Glass said in a release. “That record is even more remarkable when considering all our students had to overcome during the spring semester due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I congratulate our honorees along with their families and our support staffs for this accomplishment.”
In order to qualify for the award, student-athletes were required to be enrolled at the university for at least 12 months and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
