An employee at the campus location of Mother Bear’s Pizza at 1428 E. Third St. tested positive for COVID-19, according to a Monday Facebook announcement from Mother Bear’s Pizza Campus.
The Campus location will be closed until 4 p.m. Thursday for a deep clean and sanitation, according to a message on their answering machine. During this period, the staff will be informed of the positive COVID-19 case, and contact tracing efforts will be conducted among the staff.
The employee works one shift each week, and his or her last shift was July 5, according to the announcement. The restaurant was informed of the positive COVID-19 case early Monday afternoon and is requiring any staff who worked in close proximity with the employee to be tested for COVID-19 before being cleared to return to work.
“We have been operating under all of Monroe County health requirements and CDC guidelines, including requiring mask-wearing at all times,” the announcement reads. “However, we understand that even with diligent mask wearing, there is still a chance of infection to spread.”
According to the announcement, the restaurant has been in contact with the Monroe County Health Department regarding this positive case of COVID-19.
“Rest assured that our employees' health and the public's health come first,” the announcement reads. “We will reopen only when it is safe to do so.”
Mother Bear’s Pizza West at 2980 W. Whitehall Crossing Blvd. remains in operation and will be open for dine-in, carryout and delivery, according to the announcement.
