IU students living off-campus will not have access to IU systems if they aren't scheduled for COVID-19 testing by midnight Thursday, according to IU spokesperson Chuck Carney.

If students who live in Bloomington do not get a test, Carney said they will not have access to courses and resources on Canvas, the library or anything that requires a central login..

Carney said Tuesday there are still around 8,000 students that need to be tested.

Students can schedule their test through the email sent by IU or by visiting this website

Students who are studying online and not coming to Bloomington for the fall semester are not required to get tested, according to the email.

The policy was put in place Aug. 5 detailing the sanctions involved for untested students. IU has stressed the importance of student wellness in implementing these restrictions.

“We can’t have students that would simply refuse to be tested that are walking into the population,” Carney said. “The point of this is to keep students and everybody else around them healthy and safe.”
