8:14: IU goes for it on fourth and two from Maryland's 5-yard line, but Scott comes up just short. IU's drive was 12 plays and 71 yards, taking nearly seven minutes of clock, but IU doesn't score. The Hoosiers ran the ball nine times and threw three times. All three throws were complete.

6:29: Penix continues to look uncomfortable from the pocket. IU goes three and out for the third time on the day.
7:40: Maryland elects to punt on a fourth and one in its own territory. The ball is downed at IU's 15-yard line.
9:12: IU moves the ball 25 yards before several incompletions from sophomore Michael Penix Jr. end the drive. Penix 1-8 so far on the day. The punt gives Maryland the ball at its 31-yard line.
10:43: Maryland's ensuing drive stalls after Tagovailoa is pressured. The punt is pinned at IU's two-yard line.
12:08: Jaylin Williams picks off Tagovailoa and returns 39 yards, but fumbles at the end of the run. The ball is recovered by Maryland, who gets a fresh set of downs and moves into IU territory.
14:01: IU can't move the ball after Mullen's interception. It's the second Hoosier three and out of the day, and Maryland gets the ball in IU territory.

:23: Tiawan Mullen intercepts Tagovailoa near the end zone. The Terrapins' drive entered the red zone before penalties forced them back. IU runs one play from its own 2-yard line to end the quarter.
TOUCHDOWN: Junior Stevie Scott III runs the ball three yards into the end zone to put IU up 7-0. IU turns to the wildcat formation and pounds the run game, completing only one pass on the drive. 4:02, 1Q.
9:13: Maryland punts after a first down run by Tagovailoa was called back for holding. IU starts its second drive at the 26-yard line.
9:59: The Hoosiers can't accomplish anything on their first drive. IU goes three and out and punts it back to Maryland, who takes over at its own 38.
10:50: Maryland misses a field goal to start the game. Maryland moved quickly down the field with short passes and quick runs. The drive stalled after sophomore quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa overthrew a receiver in the end zone.
