A part of the Golden Book website, an IU website that allows students, staff and faculty to submit their military service for the official IU record, went down yesterday afternoon, according to a tweet. It is now up and running again, in time for Veteran’s Day.
The Golden Book, housed in the Indiana Memorial Union, has 152 pages that include the names of 25,000 people who served from 1812 through World War II.
The digital version, which now includes more recent conflicts than the hardcopy, can be visited by people in the Memorial Room in the IMU. The original book is too fragile to be handled now.
People can search the digital book through an online form. New names can be submitted here.
