A Bloomington Transit employee has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a city press release. This is the 6th BT employee to contract COVID-19 since March.
The employee first experienced symptoms Dec. 7 and went on paid leave Dec. 8. They received a positive test Saturday.
The employee works in the maintenance department and does not interact with the public. Contact tracing showed the employee placed no co-workers at risk, either.
The last BT employee to receive a positive test was Nov. 30. This marks 44 city employees who have contracted COVID-19 since March.
