IU men’s basketball’s game against Michigan State on Jan. 17 in East Lansing, Michigan, has been postponed due to an increase in COVID-19 cases within Michigan State’s program. The two schools will work with the Big Ten to reschedule the game, IU Athletics said in a press release Thursday.
Michigan State had already postponed its game against Iowa on Jan. 13 after two players on the team had tested positive for COVID-19, including head coach Tom Izzo’s son Steven.
Before the postponement, IU was one of only three Big Ten programs, alongside Minnesota and Northwestern, that had not had a game postponed during conference play.
The Hoosiers will play in-state rival Purdue tonight at 7 p.m. in Assembly Hall, and then will travel to take on Iowa on Jan. 21.
