Thursday’s game between No. 17 IU women’s basketball and Rutgers has been postponed as the Scarlet Knights continue facing COVID-19 struggles, according to a statement released by Rutgers Athletics.

This postponement is in cooperation with Big Ten conference safety protocol regarding return of play after positive COVID-19 cases amongst tier one individuals, the announcement said.

Both schools and the conference will work to reschedule the game once again after the originally scheduled meeting between Rutgers and IU on Jan. 18 was also postponed.

As for the Scarlet Knights, this is their eighth straight postponed game. They have not played since Jan. 3 against Nebraska.

The next game for IU will now be against Iowa at 2 p.m. Sunday in Iowa City, Iowa.
