Gallery Walk Bloomington’s fourth gallery walk of the year will take place 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 2, and will feature two new art galleries. The event is free and open to the public.

The gallery walk events are scheduled for every first Friday of the month and involve patrons walking a mile-long trail, stopping along the way at featured art galleries and exhibits. The locations house special exhibits and some offer refreshments, according to the Gallery Walk Bloomington website, where a map of the trail can also be found.

April’s walk will feature the Cook Center inside IU’s Maxwell Hall and Yarrow, located at 213 S. Rogers, Suite 4. The two galleries are new additions to the Gallery Walk trail, according to a press release. The Cook Center will present "Style of the State" curated by Arthur Liou and Yarrow will display artwork by Biff Vigil, the release said.

“Gallery Walk brings together art lovers and the community, showcasing an ever-evolving art scene featuring local, regional, national, and international artists,” according to the website.

Returning galleries that will be open for April’s walk include The Venue Fine Arts & Gifts, Gallery SCG, Monroe Convention Center Art Gallery and FAR Center for Contemporary Arts, according to the press release. The event is COVID-19 safe, and more information on each gallery’s safety precautions can be found on their respective websites.
