IU women’s golf will compete at the Clemson Invitational this weekend at The Reserve at Lake Keowee from Friday to Sunday in Sunset, South Carolina. The event is hosted by Clemson University.

The Hoosiers, competing in their third consecutive event in South Carolina, were set to compete in last year’s Clemson invitational before it was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The format will consist of one round being played per day with a 10 a.m. shotgun start on Friday and Saturday. The event will conclude on Sunday with a 9 a.m. start, when the Hoosiers will begin from the fourth hole.

The course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, reaches 6,471 yards with a par-72 layout.

The 18-team field includes familiar faces as six other Big Ten teams will be in attendance. Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin, among others, will look to hoist the trophy on Sunday.

IU is still looking for its first top ten finish as a team, which head coach Clint Wallman said he thinks can happen this week.

“I think we’re really in shape,” Wallman said. “The girls are ready and excited to play."
