IU women’s basketball senior guard Jaelynn Penn has announced she will be transferring for her last year of eligibility, according to a post on her Instagram account.

In her post, Penn said she was thankful and appreciative for head coach Teri Moren and her staff, her teammates, IU fans and her education at IU.

“I am proud to have been alongside so many of you as we helped rewrite the IU record books,” Penn said in her announcement. “Nothing will ever replace those memories and something I will always cherish.”

Penn opted out of the 2020-21 season on Feb. 7. She was a starting guard at the time.

The Louisville, Kentucky, native averaged 9.5 points per game this season as well as 4.9 rebounds per game and had accumulated 26 assists. Penn was shooting 38% from the field and 28% from the arc this season before she opted out.

Penn played her last game in a Hoosier jersey Jan. 31 when IU beat Michigan State 79-67. Penn scored 13 points.
