The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Monroe County and surrounding areas Monday morning. The warning is in place through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service’s website.
The flood warning is in place for the East Fork White River, White River, Sugar Creek, Driftwood River, Flatrock River, Wabash River and Youngs Creek.
The flooding is a result of rainfall over the weekend combined with snow melt from last week. No precipitation is expected through the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
Cars and other vehicles should avoid driving through the flooded areas.
