IU students and staff can sign up for their first COVID-19 vaccine starting Friday after new appointments are added, according to a Thursday email from IU.
The new appointments will be released exclusively to IU students, staff and faculty, according to the email. They can expect to be contacted by the state through both text and email with a link where they can sign up.
IU estimates the appointments for first vaccinations will be available throughout the weeks of April 5 and 12. IU will be offering the Pfizer vaccine, which is administered in two doses.
The announcement comes after previous reports that the Assembly Hall vaccination site was fully booked until the week of April 19 - 23.
Those with an existing vaccination appointment can still apply for an IU appointment and call 211 to cancel their prior vaccination.
