The Indiana women's volleyball team traveled to Western Michigan University last weekend to play in the Discover Kalamazoo Classic, winning two of the three games.
Indiana fell short against Western Michigan in its first game Friday. The Hoosiers lost 25-12 in the first set but pulled through in the second and fourth sets, winning 25-20 and 25-11, respectively. Despite their efforts, the team lost 15-11 in the fifth set, leaving the Broncos with a 3-2 win.
Indiana came back strong Saturday, winning against both Purdue University Fort Wayne and Southeast Missouri State University.
Indiana defeated Purdue Fort Wayne in straight set scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-17.
Following the 3-0 win, Indiana played another five-set battle against Southeast Missouri State. The Hoosiers dropped the first set 25-19 but fought back for a 25-23 win in the second. They fell short with a 25-14 score in the third set but took the fourth with a 25-11 win. In their final set of the weekend, the Hoosiers battled and picked up a 15-9 win, beating the Redhawks with a final set score of 3-2.
Next weekend, Indiana will take on Mississippi State University, the University of Oklahoma and Georgia Tech at the Georgia Tech Classic.
