Trayce Jackson-Davis, a junior forward on the Indiana men’s basketball team, was named preseason first-team All-American by the Associated Press, according to a release Monday.

Jackson-Davis is one of two Big Ten players on the team. Illinois junior center Kofi Cockburn was also selected. University of California, Los Angeles junior guard Johnny Juzang, Gonzaga University junior forward Drew Timme and Villanova University graduate student guard Collin Gillespie join Jackson-Davis and Cockburn to round out the team.

Jackson-Davis returned to Indiana following a sophomore campaign where he averaged 19.1 points, nine rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. Those averages were good for fourth, second and fifth in the Big Ten, respectively.

He made first-team All-Big Ten in the media and AP polls last season, as well as second-team All-Big Ten in the coaches’ poll. Jackson-Davis was a finalist for the Wooden Award and Karl Malone Award, which are given to the nation’s best player and best power forward, respectively. Timme won the Karl Malone award last season.
