The IU chapter of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity was put on cease and desist effective Nov. 11, according to IU’s list of organizations on disciplinary status.

An investigation is ongoing, IU spokesperson Chuck Carney said in an email to the IDS.

Cease and desist is an interim measure placed on a chapter when there is an immediate threat or ongoing investigation, according to IU’s disciplinary status definitions.

An organization under cease and desist is not allowed to host, attend, participate in any social events, recruitment activities, brotherhood/sisterhood events, philanthropy/service events or social events, Carney said.
