Indiana women’s golf head coach Clint Wallman announced his resignation Wednesday, according to an IU Athletics press release. Wallman was in the midst of his 18th season at Indiana.

Assistant coach Emily Kuhfeld has been announced as the interim head coach for the remainder of the 2021-22 season. A national search will be conducted in the offseason and a hire is expected prior to the start of the 2022-23 season.

During Wallman’s tenure as head coach he led the Hoosiers to six NCAA Regional invitations and two NCAA Championships tournament berths. Indiana had nine top-seven finishes at the Big Ten Championships under Wallman, had a Big Ten Freshman of the Year and earned nine All-Big Ten honors during his tenure.

Kuhfeld joined the program in the summer of 2021, having left her post as head coach of Georgia Southern University. Kuhfeld was at GSU for seven seasons and led them to three straight program-best finishes of third in the Sun Belt Conference Championships. Kuhfeld is a former Big Ten golfer who played four seasons for Ohio State.

Athletic Director Scott Dolson announced a team to help oversee the program alongside Kuhfeld during the transition period. Members include men’s golf head coach Mike Mayer, men’s associate head coach Corey Ziedonis and athletic trainer Ali Crouch. Jeremy Gray, associate athletic director and women’s golf administrator, will lead the national search for the opening.
