Bloomington Playwrights Project and University Players are featuring a production of “Modern” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4-19 at the Bloomington Playwrights Project's Ted Jones Playhouse.
This new coming-of-age musical tells the story of Amish teenagers during their period of Rumspringa. During this period, these teens must decide between being baptized in the church or leaving forever. The teens all move in together only a few miles from their original community to come to terms with this decision. This show features major themes of faith, family, love and tradition.
Tickets will be sold at $25 for general admission and at a discounted price of $15 for students. Tickets can be purchased on the Bloomington Playwrights Project website.
This musical features music by Derek Gregor, composer of two of Bloomington Playwrights Project’s most popular shows, “Toast” and “Island Song.”
Selda Sahin wrote the show and lyrics for the production. Ed and Jan Ryan, and Cyndi and Dale Nelson sponsored this show.
