The University Players will be holding auditions for their Miscast Cabaret from noon to 4 p.m. on April 3.  These auditions will be held in room A200 of the Lee Norvelle Theater and Drama Center.

People are encouraged to audition with a piece from a show or a role they would not usually get the chance to play. The University Players also noted that they have the right to ask those auditioning to change their song.

“The song you audition with is meant to be the piece you would like to perform at the cabaret,” director Kate Glaser said.  “The whole point of doing ‘miscast’ is to give students the chance to perform material they might not get the chance to in a traditional theatrical setting.”

Once cast, participants must be prepared to rehearse April 27-29 leading up to the show. They will also work on preparing two full-cast numbers.

Glaser said that this cabaret will include student solos and skits, faculty appearance, and two full cast numbers. University Players will also announce their season for next year at this show.

Those interested in auditioning can sign up here.
