Marking its 142nd year with the 2021-2022 season, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will be performing in Bloomington. The concert will take place at 8 p.m. March 25 at the IU Auditorium.
This season will mark the third with music director Stéphane Denève.
During its time in Bloomington from March 23-25, the SLSO will administer an immersive educational experience with students in IU’s Jacobs School of Music.
Orchestra members and music school faculty will collaborate to offer a residency program, including a wide range of masterclasses geared toward students studying any instrument, from the double bass to percussion. The full residency schedule is posted online.
The SLSO’s Bloomington performance will include George Gershwin's “Concerto in F,” James Lee III’s “Chupshah! Harriet’s Drive to Canaan” and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Symphony No. 3.”
Two-time Grammy-nominated pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet will also be featured in the program.
Student ticket pricing starts at $15 for the show. All other ticket prices start at $30.
