Local bands will play at the free music festival Føreal Fest from 5-9 p.m. Saturday outdoors at 1121 N. Lincoln St.
IU sophomore Aidan Smith and Purdue sophomore Adam Klaich developed Føreal, a clothing brand, in 2021. Smith said they got the idea at their lunch table during their freshman year of high school and were finally in the position to act on it.
Their original idea was to create clothing for their group of seven friends, but it evolved into a clothing brand for anyone to purchase.
“Even though we call it a clothing brand, we also see it as a lot more than that,” Klaich said. “It’s kind of like an umbrella for us to just do things. We want to do so much more than just make clothes.”
Indie bands SYZYGY, ForeDaze, Vennola, Citruses and Northwest will perform at the event. They said all of the bands are either friends with Klaich and Smith or were recommended to them. Klaich and Smith have been planning the music festival since November 2021.
Klaich said this event is a place to hangout with friends and meet new people. There will be a photo booth and a limited quantity of Føreal Fest shirts sold for $12 each. Band merchandise will also be sold at the event.
