Christiana Ochoa, executive associate dean of the Maurer School of Law, will take over as Interim Dean of the law school beginning July 1, according to an announcement from the school. Ochoa will be the first Latina to hold a dean-level position at the law school, according to the announcement.
Ochoa began serving as executive associate dean of the law school in 2019 following her tenure as associate dean for research and academic affairs at the law school, according to her staff profile page. She is also a founding associate director of the IU Center for Documentary Research and Practice.
Austen Parrish, the current dean of the law school, is stepping down from his position to take on the role of dean of the University of California Irvine School of Law, according to an April 7 press release.
