The Big Ten Conference announced the Academic All-Big Ten Teams for spring sports on Wednesday. One hundred and forty-five Hoosiers made the cut across ten different sports, bringing Indiana’s 2021-2022 total to 349 honorees — a new school record.
Student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 and be enrolled full-time to be eligible. Seven Hoosier athletes maintained an unblemished 4.0 GPA.
Sophomore Jagger Saylor, who is studying human biology, recorded a 4.0 GPA and was one of nine men’s tennis athletes to earn academic recognition. Benjamin Veatch, a graduate student on the men’s track and field team who earned a public health graduate certificate, also had an unblemished GPA.
Graduate student Kelly Mindak and redshirt senior Maddy Pollard, women’s track and field athletes, earned perfect 4.0 GPAs. Mindak received a public management graduate certificate and Pollard got her master’s degree in safety management.
Three women’s rowing athletes — seniors Jayna Dolfi and Kalynn Scher and sophomore Sofia Sperduto — recorded unblemished GPAs. Dolfi earned her B.S. in supply chain management, Scher got her B.S. in biology and Sperduto is studying exercise science.
