IU culture centers will conduct various open houses on Friday. There, students can learn about the IU culture centers and celebrate IU’s diverse community.
Asian Culture Center
The Asian Culture Center (ACC) will offer its Open House noon-2 p.m. on Friday. According to its website, the ACC is a program of the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Multicultural Affairs that promotes the acceptance and awareness of Asian and Asian American cultures and history. Students can drop by the ACC Open House to meet the staff and grab a boxed lunch.
La Casa/Latino Cultural Center
La Casa/Latino Cultural Center will offer its Open House 12-2 p.m. on Friday. The center aims to increase cultural awareness of the Latino community and foster a sense of belonging for Latine students on campus, according to its website. During its Open House students can meet the staff from La Casa, tour the center and learn about the center’s services and programs.
Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center
The Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center (NMBCC) will hold its open house 1-4 p.m. on Friday. According to its website, the NMBCC helps Black students, faculty and staff develop and succeed through its education and social programs. Students can meet the staff, tour the center, learn about programs and resources and get free swag.
First Nations Educational & Cultural Center
The First Nations Educational & Cultural Center (FNECC) will offer its open house from noon-2 p.m. on Friday. The center provides a network of resources and campus programs designed to encourage and empower American Indian and indigenous students according to its website. Students who attend the Open House can meet the staff and learn about the center’s services and programs.
LGBTQ+ Culture Center
The LGBTQ+ Culture Center's Open House will be noon-2 p.m. on Friday. The center provides a welcoming environment for students and increases appreciation of LGBTQ people, according to its website. The Open House will be an opportunity for students to meet the staff, learn about the 2022-23 programs and services, and connect with the LGBTQ community on campus.
Hillel/Jewish Culture Center
The Hillel/Jewish Culture Center will conduct the Cream & Crimson Shabbat dinner will be at 6 p.m. on Friday. According to the center’s website, it creates a community that celebrates Judaism and supports the Jewish student community on campus. At the event, students can enjoy a free Shabbat dinner.
