IU Police Department received three reports of sexual assault the week of Sept. 5, according to its crime log.
On Sept. 7, IUPD received a report of sexual assault. IUPD Deputy Chief Shannon Bunger said in an email that a third party reported a student had sexually assaulted an unknown guest at a fraternity on North Eagleson Avenue. Bunger said it was reported that the victim could not give consent.
The report was delayed, meaning it was submitted weeks, months or years after the incident. The assault reportedly took place on or around Halloween 2021, Bunger said.
IUPD received another delayed report Sept. 7 of fondling. Bunger said a third party reported a student had been fondled by another student without their consent sometime on or around March 15, 2022.
A case of rape reportedly occurred Sept. 3 at Foster Quadrangle. The incident was reported Sept. 9 by a third party who said a student had been sexually assaulted by an unknown man in their room, Bunger said. The party who made the report said the student was unable to give consent.
All three cases have been referred to university officials for review.
