Smith, an Indiana native, earned her first start of the season against Indiana State University on Sept. 2. She has appeared in 11 of the Hoosiers’ 15 contests this year, totaling nearly 390 minutes on the field.
Smith is the first Hoosier to earn Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors since now-sophomore goalkeeper Jamie Gerstenberg did so in September 2021.
