Two rapes, other sexual crimes, reported in the last week at IU

Sexual crimes were reported on Oct. 27 and Oct. 24 at multiple locations around campus. 

On Oct. 24, crimes of stalking, rape and sexual battery were reported at the University East Apartments around 8:30 p.m., according to the IU Police Department crime log. The case has been referred to university officials for review.  

Another sexual battery was reported Oct. 24 at Forrest Quad. That incident occurred between August 2021 and May 2022, according to the crime log.  

Stalking and a sexual battery were reported Oct. 27 at the Collins Living Learning Center. The incident occurred between Sept. 1, 2022, and Oct. 27, 2022. The case was also referred to university officials for review according to the crime log.  

Another report, rape and strangulation, was also reported Oct. 27. The location was not disclosed, and the victim declined to prosecute, according to the crime log.  

These new reports bring the total number of rapes reported to 13 so far this semester.
