Former IU student arrested in connection to reported sexual assault

A former IU student was arrested Feb. 7 in connection with the alleged physical and sexual assault of two IU students, according to the IU Police Department Crime Log.  

IUPD Public Information Officer Hannah Skibba said in an email two students met with officers at IUPD headquarters Feb. 8 to report an incident that occurred the day before. The students said the suspect, Ismael Garcia, committed physical and sexual violent acts on them inside their apartment at Tulip Tree Apartments on campus.  

Garcia was arrested and charged with domestic battery with moderate injury and sexual battery, Skibba said in the email.  

Garcia also has a pending charge of residential entry break and enter dwelling, according to MyCase.
