One person was displaced after a report of a lightning strike that caused a fire at 2610 Windermere Woods Drive Wednesday.
According to an email from Chief Battalion Roger Kerr II, chief battalion at the Bloomington Fire Department, the department received a call around 10:15 a.m. about the fire and that smoke was visible at a duplex in the Windermere Woods' neighborhood.
In the email, Kerr said no occupants or firefighters were injured. He said the 2612 address suffered significantly more damage than the 2610 one.
Kerr said in the email the firefighter crew was on the scene for three hours and it took an hour to extinguish the fire. No pets were harmed or lost.
Bloomington experienced multiple storms throughout the day Wednesday. The Weather Channel said there is potential for severe thunderstorms Wednesday night.
