COLUMN: A proper Dave’s Hot Chicken review

Dave’s Hot Chicken has now been open for a few weeks, which means it’s time to give a proper food review. I have been wanting to stop by ever since it opened, but I had to wait for their lines of customers to die down a bit, and now that I have tried it, I know I would go back and wait in an extensive line for another meal.

I am not too fond of spicy foods, but when I saw their variety of spice levels, I decided to try it out. They let you choose from seven different spice levels — no spice to reaper. I chose lite mild, because I wanted to add a little extra flavor but not too much. I ordered a chicken slider, which is served with kale slaw and pickles — which I loved since I’m a huge fan of pickles — that are topped with Dave’s sauce. The pickles and fries are both seasoned perfectly, adding a bit extra flavor to the whole meal.

Not only does Dave’s Hot Chicken have tasty food, but their restaurant has a great atmosphere as well. Their walls are filled with fun colorful designs, different tables to choose from and outdoor seating.  Their staff serves your food right away with a big smile on their face.

I love a restaurant that gives the customer a variety of options. Dave’s Hot Chicken allows you to eat your chicken either on its own, on a slider or even on a single piece of bread. Even though they don’t give you too many sauces to choose from, their Dave’s sauce completes the whole meal. If you love Cane’s special sauce, you will want to try Dave's sauce. They even have three different kinds of shakes — a milkshake always makes the meal taste 10 times better.

Personally, I think the best way to eat Dave’s Hot Chicken is on a slider with everything. Once you take a bite and enjoy it, you’ll never want to eat anything else. Take my advice and stop by Dave’s Hot Chicken for an unforgettable meal.
